I had a 10 hour layover in Honolulu and so I rented a car and drove around the island. I did some amazing snorkeling with Sea Turtles at Mākaha Beach Park and then I went for dinner at Sushi Sasabune, which I found on Trip Advisor.
Sasabune is a different type of Sushi restaurant. You don't order off a menu and there are no rolls. The chef makes his choice of sushi and presents you with the plates. On the day I was there the menu consisted of 13 dishes. You have to order a minimum of 4. I decided to stay for the full 13. It was worth it. Each dish is between $8-$13, so it's pricey, however if you can afford to treat yourself and you love sushi, I would recommend you splurge.
